The Security Operations Manager for our newest QTS Data Center in Piscataway, NJ will be responsible for providing a visual security presence to ensure visitors, clients, and employees have a safe and pleasant experience while inside the Facility.  Deter and detect suspicious activities and watch for criminal acts or site infractions which may pose a threat to the property, client or employees at the site.  Provide excellent customer service to all individuals that enter the facility and further employee/management relations, goodwill and public relations to keep our customers for life. 

 

This role will be required to have on-call duty 24 X 7 X 365.

RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned

 

  • Frontline supervision of security staff and daily security operations
  • Oversight of contract security schedules, payroll, customer and employee relations
  • Reports directly to the Security Manager
  • Ensures all security systems are fully functional to include Access Control, Visitor Management, Service Now, CCTV.
  • Creates, assigns and issues facility access badges to authorized personnel
  • Responds to all emergencies, such as medical, fire, intrusions, and other threats
  • Knowledge and familiarization with all emergency response plans and evacuation procedures, which includes conducting fire evacuation drills
  • Ensure that all security equipment is kept in excellent working condition through regular inspection and by following QTS preventative maintenance programs
  • Ensure that all inventories are received in correct unit count and condition and security patrols are performed in accordance with QTS policies and procedures
  • Conducts regular training for security staff
  • Conduct security briefings for contractor and sub-contractor construction personnel
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement as well as Fire and EMS
  • Perform security officer duties as needed to ensure efficient operations and guest service standards are met
  • Provides reports as needed for internal and external audits
  • Programming of cameras for install, trained by Will
  • Monthly Customer reports, provides custom reports
  • Monthly OPS Leadership reports
  • Monthly Cap Labor reports
  • Monthly Badge charge reports
  • Maintains Key Watcher System, adds new customers, checks inventory, troubleshoots issues
  • Updates customers space/ location & key inventory logs
  • Works closely with OSC to resolve ticketing issues, daily communication (On Site Advisor)
  • Weekly Iris, Bio Backups on systems
  • Review of all EOS Reports
  • Review of all Labor Tracking reports
  • Provisioning/ De-Provisioning of new officers
  • Lenel/Honeywell (Prowatch) experience is a plus

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • Two or more years of experience in Physical Security Management

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four or more years of experience in Physical Security Management
  • Two or more years of experience with Data Center Security
  • Two or more years of experience with Security Systems like Lenel or Honeywell (Prowatch)
  • Two or more years of experience managing direct security personnel or security contract


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

  • Proficient with computer skills
  • Proficient in Access Control Systems and related software
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; for the purpose of public interaction and report writing.
  • Has excellent customer service skills.
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation, which may include a 10 panel drug screen.
  • Must have adequate transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to handle typical emergency and crisis situations efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to walk, stand or sit for at least 8 hours.
