The Personnel Security Specialist is responsible for assisting with the development and administration of client security requirements. This position requires a proactive self-starter who can hold a clear and detail-oriented focus, quickly learn and follow processes and procedures, and maintain open communication with managers and clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned

  • Review and analyze personnel backgrounds and history for clearance, violations, and/or risk assessments.
  • Build and maintain a process to define what clearances are required for each QTS job.
  • Maintain up to date authorization letter for each service, identifying personnel authorized to request access changes for employees, contractors and affiliates.
  • Respond to each customer request with the most accurate and complete information available consistent with established policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with clients and their partners, who require cleared personnel, to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their processes. 
  • Communicate with customers and personnel via telephone, email, face to face, etc.
  • Expedite services to those requesting/needing assistance.
  • Ensure personnel security requirements are met and maintained.
  • Help and track employees to complete the Electronic Questionnaires of Investigation Processing.
  • Recommend and make briefings about overall personnel and security as well as breaches and risks.
  • Maintain and update security files.


  • High School Degree or GED
  • Three or more years of personnel security experience
  • Proficient in MS Office and Excel


  • Secret Security clearance


  • Solid command of the English language with strong written and verbal skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills be a self-starter and possess the ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to use discretion when handling sensitive personal information
