As a member of QTS Network Engineering Team, we are looking for an experienced individual with in depth understanding of large enterprise datacenter technologies including networking, security, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Cloud Computing and physical datacenter practices.  This position requires a self-starter and quick learner who understands and can adapt to existing software application and computing infrastructures.  The position will report to the Senior Manager, IT Engineering Services.  Daily activities include monitoring of ticket queues, execution of assigned work, documentation and development of technical change management plans. 

RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned

  • Troubleshoot internal infrastructure network issues as well as multi peer carrier transport globally. 
  • Collaborate with Systems, Security Engineering and Compliance teams for the tracking and remediation of vulnerabilities.
  • Responsible for system and network standards, upgrades, maintenance, and monitoring, network operations vendor, contract management and proper reporting to leadership.
  • Provide technical documentation and instruction relative to complex problems.
  • Network data center and network carrier infrastructure lifecycle, including budget, planning, requirements management, and test procedures.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedule and scope.
  • Network latency analysis, performance monitoring and troubleshooting skills
  • Enterprise scale networks within cloud environment delivering Infrastructure as a Service


  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering experience or equivalent experience.
  • 5 or more years of multi-site network operations experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in network administration, Load Balancing (F5 Networks, F5 iRules, F5 ASM, Citrix Netscaler, WAF), Firewalls (Cisco Systems, Juniper Networks), IDS/IPS, IPSEC VPN, PVLAN, Switching (L2, L3).
  • Experience with Data Center network products: UCS servers, Nexus 7000s, 9000s, 2000s, CAT6800s, CAT4507s, CAT3750s, Juniper MX, SRX and SSG platforms. Juniper EX and Qfx L3 switching, Arista L3 switching, Brocade ICX.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Fabric Extenders, Virtual Device Context, Virtual Port Channel, VRF, FCoE, VSS
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols and features: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, QoS and Multicast
  • Experience with Campus multilayer network design, Data Center network architecture




  • Advanced Vendor certifications (CCNP, JNCIS, etc.)
  • Ability to achieve and meet DoD 8570 controls, IAT Level II.
