As Head of Strategic Sourcing and Vendor Management, you are championed with leading the strategic direction of our supply chain organization to create a culture of strategic thinking, financial analytics, marketplace focus, and relationship management internally and externally.  Your innovative experience leading people, process, and technology in a fast-paced, high-growth organization will be utilized at QTS during our inflection point of growth.  This essential function to the business will fund revenue growth and profitability by improving quality, total spend, operations and lead times that will win and retain customers by reducing costs and non-value added activity.


Leveraging your experience, you will partner with Senior Executives to develop sourcing strategies necessary to:

  • Generate 20%+ growth
  • Expand our footprint both domestically and internationally
  • Reimagine our approach to data centers to create new designs for meeting future market needs
  • Enhance our industry-leading customer service among 1200+ world-class customers
  • Reinvent our business processes to drive new levels of productivity
  • Engage our supply base in new ways to maximize value creation

RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned

  • Oversee the development and quality of all RFIs/RFPs (excluding Property Development) to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with all required policies and procedures
  • Develop policies, guidelines, systems, & best practices; develop supplier performance criteria and conduct supplier reviews
  • Develops annual strategies to drive savings, performance improvement, and compliance improvement.
  • Experience developing long range sourcing plans for assigned categories to reduce total costs, optimize value from suppliers, and meet internal customer requirements
  • Manage cost reduction opportunities through benchmarking, process/technology improvements, supplier negotiations and supplier partnerships.
  • Demonstrated track record of cost reductions and business results through effective negotiation strategies
  • Robust negotiation skills, excellent change management and problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive organizational transformation
  • Implement processes and methodologies to boost efficiency and continuously improve on project delivery time, budget, and internal customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement best practices, techniques, and tools for project planning, execution, management, ongoing milestone/deliverable tracking, communication, and key performance metrics.
  • Introduce effective measures to increase efficiency and continually improve project realization.
  • Present clear options to senior leaders, articulating the necessary resource (time, money and staff) required to achieve project goals.
  • Partner with senior management to develop and manage strategic sourcing plans across the company to challenge the status quo, and drive quality and value
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and exceptional partnering skills including ability to contract and influence with and without authority at all levels, across functional teams and with key vendor partners


  • Intersect - Able to bring together the right resources (regardless of title or location) to have the right conversations at the right time to get the organization through the complete change cycle necessary to achieve the key strategic imperatives and distinctive goals that differentiate us from competitors.
  • Invent - Able to facilitate invent conversations that generate a surplus of ideas/options and help cross-functional and diverse resources recommend or decide which ideas/options to pursue. Able to build business cases to prove an idea is worth pursuing or not..
  • Invest - Able to manage cross-functional projects with large scope, multi-generational schedule that span several quarters, and complex resource needs and dependencies. Lays out clear aggressive plans to deliver value significant value from the supplier relationships.
  • Act - Able to rally others to get the job done.  Clearly and reliably can define WHO will do WHAT by WHEN
  • Adjust - Able to lead project debriefs that celebrate and institutionalize best practices and also drive high-leverage improvements that build sustainable capability
  • Technical - Consulting and project management (evidence of business results that required a team) and relationship skills (able to work with multiple disciplines).


  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA strongly preferred
  • Ten or more years of related professional experience
  • Three or more years of leadership experience – ability to develop and grow a team, prioritize effectively, and to deliver high-quality output with limited resources


  • Demonstrated strategic mindset with exceptional analytical and quantitative problem solving skills
  • Initiative taker, eager to break new ground, willingness to take personal risks, and operate in times of  ambiguity, as seen through leadership roles
  • Strong complex negotiation skills and a track record of successfully negotiating favorable terms for large deals, yielding in a significant impact to the bottom line
  • Proven record of high performance academically and professionally
  •  Agility to learn quickly and adapt in rapid change to support and implement new processes
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
