The QTS Procurement Buyer is responsible for purchasing goods and services to ensure that the company’s operational needs are being met, while taking into consideration price, quality, and delivery.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned

  • Support our goal of doubling our size by 2020 by maximizing the value we get from our suppliers.
  • Work cross-functionally and with suppliers to improve the cost, quality, and service our suppliers. Negotiate with suppliers and internal customers to deliver the best outcome.
  • Identify ways to fulfill the organizations needs more effectively and efficiently while reducing risk and achieving high compliance standards.
  • Be the expert on the procure to pay (P2P) process. Help suppliers and internal departments minimize errors and rework. Improve the process as necessary to eliminate root causes of waste.
  • Perform analytics to identify ways to reduce our total cost of ownership. 
  • When appropriate collaborate with suppliers to improve their processes and cost structures.
  • Work with internal customer, legal and the supplier to achieve the best terms and conditions in the most effectively and efficient manner.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

CORE COMPETENCIES

1.    Intersect – Able to bring together multiple people from multiple levels and functions across multiple companies/cultures to create value.

2.    Invent – Able to align the strategic direction of QTS and supplier(s).  Set category strategy

3.    Invest – Able to get supplier and QTS to layout the plans necessary to improve the commercial terms and supplier performance.  Negotiate better deals.

4.    Act – Holds suppliers accountable for delivering on their contracts or better.  Delivers savings and efficiency improvements.

5.    Adjust – Lead quarterly reviews that improve the capability of the supply chain

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent professional experience
  • Two or more years of related experience within procurement or in process improvement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • One or more years of experience in management consulting
  • Certification in supply chain management
  • Experience/exposure in technology and/or real estate industries
