The Operations Strategy Manager will be responsible for helping the Operations Strategy Team:

  1. Identify and prioritize the growth opportunities that will support 20+% growth. Develop market entry and expansion analyses and communicate results to executives. Results will directly impact property acquisition and development decisions necessary to keep up with the demand in the data center industry.
  2. Develop competitive intelligence that positions QTS to win enterprise deals. The Operations organization owns the C1 product (custom data center) strategy. The Operations Strategy Team is responsible for building intelligence on competitors and key customers that enable QTS to build the right product, at the right time, and sell it at the right price.
  3. Work with cross-functional teams to identify Business improvement levers. Team with leaders in engineering, development, technology, and sales to develop initiatives to improve product quality, cost, or speed-to-deliver. Synthesize and summarize tradeoffs of each initiative for the executive team to support effective and efficient decision making.
  4. Execute CEO, COO, and Board-directed strategic initiatives: The Operations Strategy Team is where executives go for questions that span multiple corporate functions, need answers quickly, and have a significant impact on business performance. The Operations Strategy Team will team with leaders across the business, architect a problem-solving framework, and drive towards results.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned

The Manager role will involve leading Analysts and/or Senior Analysts on strategy and analysis projects, with the possibility for a team of direct reports. This role is designed to be a landing point for talented thinkers and communicators at QTS. Demonstrated performance will lead to growth opportunities both within the Operations Strategy Team and in other parts of the organization.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Four or more years of relevant professional experience.
  • One or more years of management consulting experience.
  • Solid proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM, Finance, or Economics
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree
  • Six or more years of relevant professional experience.
  • Three or more years of management consulting experience.
  • One or more years of experience leading teams.
  • Experience in technology, managed services, construction, engineering, or energy sectors.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong initiative and creativity.
  • Ability to organize, interpret, and draw appropriate conclusions from large volumes of data and to creatively present the information in a manner that enables managers to understand the information easily.
  • Ability to drive progress independent of high-touch managerial input.
  • An Enthusiastic attitude in a team environment and ability to work independently.
  • Comfort teaming with all levels of an organization, including presenting to senior executives
