Our Public Sector sales team is growing at a rapid pace; we’re seeking a Federal Account Executive to join our team and become part of our success.  The ideal candidate will have demonstrated successful business results in dealing within the Federal “marketplace” consisting but not limited to agencies, systems integrators, OEMs and resellers.  Due to the complex nature of the solutions, we are looking for people with exceptional communication skills and a consultative selling approach to closing business.  Candidates should be equally comfortable in front of c-suite executives as well as leading white board technical conversations.  Additionally, we desire people with a strong market insight and an established business network that can generate meaningful business outcomes for QTS.

RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned

  • Close new sales opportunities within the Federal marketplace
  • Assist Proposal team and technical writers with RFI and RFP responses
  • Develop customized proposals that present creative solutions that successfully sell QTS’s suite of products
  • Achieve or exceed monthly revenue targets
  • Ensure and maintain minimum funnel goals are met or exceeded
  • Manage daily business through the CRM tool and provide feedback on prospects and opportunities
  • Independently establish and grow new or existing client base
  • Communicate effectively with peers, superiors and other QTS teams (marketing, partner/channel sales)
  • Identify, understand and solve any obstacles or objections within the sales process



  • Minimum of ten years’ experience working within the Federal space
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Strong technical background with at minimum five years’ experience in the areas of managed services, co-location and IaaS




  • Strong understanding of Federal programs, contracts, and buying process
  • Experience working with Federal System Integrators and Channel partners
  • Demonstrated experience selling with excellent negotiation skills at C- level
