    The Facilities Mechanical Technician - Data Center is responsible for all aspects of operations, maintenance, and repair of all heating/cooling, humidification/dehumidification, and associated process systems for large HVAC cooling and heating plants.  Must have experience with including both large and small chillers, cooling towers, pumps, boilers, fans, motor starters, dry coolers, fluid coolers, glycol systems, split systems, electrical, generators, controls, mechanical systems, rooftop units, data center cooling and humidification systems, fire and life safety systems, and suppression (both water based and gas based systems). Must possess in depth-knowledge of codes, both regulations and all required and applied safety standards/practices.

    This is a mission critical environment, thus the ideal applicant will have mission critical environment HVAC/Mechanical experience.  We are a 24 X 7 operation.


    The schedule will be on days Monday - Friday: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM.

    RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned


    • HVAC expertise required for job duties.
    • Tasks such as driving, installation, journeyman, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, service, welding, fabrication, cutting, burning and brazing will be part of the assigned duties.
    • Must be able to use all hand and power tools.
    • Will be responsible for pipe cutting, threading machines, and tube cleaning machines.
    • Knowledge of air distribution equipment, water treatment, water filtration systems, air handlers, boilers, central plants, centrifugal, chilled water chillers, cooling towers, dehumidification, dry coolers, forced air systems, furnace, gas, heat pumps, humidification, HVAC equipment, hydronic, heating and fuel oil, package units, refrigeration, rooftop units, split systems, steam, trailer units, variable speed equipment, VAV ventilation and window units AC are required.
    • Other knowledge should include coils, compressors, condensers, dampers, diffusers, duct work, electric motors, electric circuits, electric heating coils and controls of all types: fans, drives, belts, gears, shafts, bearings, grills, HVAC parts, registers, sheet metal, vacuum pumps, reclaim equipment, valves, piping steel, copper and PVC.
    • Skills for system size should include chiller systems 100 to 2500 tons, CRAC’S 20-60 tons and package split systems 2-100 tons.
    • Computer related skills could include: Auto/Turbo CAD, Windows, Excel, Word etc.



    • Five or more years of Data Center Mechanical experience or other related Critical Environment
    • High school diploma, trade school, military or journeyman program certification required for minimum education.


    • Certifications include CFC universal, journeyman HVAC licenses, master HVAC license
    • Two or more years of experience working in a data center environment


    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization
    • Ability to manage complex situations during off management hours - single point of contact
    • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to function in a team environment
    • The ability to pass job-related skills assessments based on pre-determined scoring criteria and time frames
    • The ability to acquire and apply job-related knowledge within set guidelines and expectations
    • Position may involve frequent typing, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching and lifting. Lifting requirements may range from <10 lbs. - 50 lbs. on a regular basis, with heavier weights done in conjunction with other individuals or lifting aids.
    • The ability to lift 50-70 pounds is required.
    • Must be able to reach and work overhead, crawl, work bent over, jump, stand for hours, and work from ladders and scaffolding.
